Animator (f/m/d)

We are seeking a talented and passionate Animator to join our fast-growing team.

As an animator at Yager and specifically on The Cycle, you will be challenged each day to bring the world of Fortuna III to life, working in interdisciplinary teams, focused on making each aspect of the game the best it can be. We are team-orientated in our approach, where everyone can voice their opinions and express their creativity to develop the best games possible. So we look forward to having you join our scrappy band of game developers in hip and happening Berlin, as we strive to bring Fortuna III to the world.

  • Create engaging and believable in-game animations
  • Work closely together with animation direction and other disciplines to ensure animations meet expectations of quality, style and consistency
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical production issues
  • Quickly master in-house tools and suggest improvements
  • Maintain animations after they are implemented, taking a strong interest in the final result of a feature
  • Work closely with other disciplines in small interdisciplinary teams in order to achieve features that are more than the sum of their parts
  • Engage in review cycles whilst also improving based on feedback from team members


  • 2+ years of professional experience working as an animator in the industry
  • Strong Maya knowledge (Motion builder knowledge is a plus)
  • You have a strong grasp of the animation principles and its application in-game animation. You can demonstrate solid body mechanics through keyframed animation
  • Experience with any game engine, preferably Unreal Engine 4
  • Good time management and task prioritization skills as well as ability to thrive under production conditions
  • Excellent communication skills across multiple disciplines; ability to work closely with direction in order to achieve great results, and to work collaboratively
  • High degree of self-motivation and initiative
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Passionate about video game

Desirable skills

  • Experience with creature and 1st person animation is a plus but not essential
  • Knowledge of current animation techniques and tech
  • Basic rigging and skinning knowledge
  • Basic scripting and/or programming knowledge is a plus
