We are looking for a talented individual to help provide Unity developers with the tools and services they need to build the creative technologies of the future.

You will be part of a small but growing team tasked with building and operating tools and infrastructure to support developers shape the future of gaming with Unity. Across the team members we’re truly full-stack (not just frontend and backend) taking care of everything from plugging in cables, to deploying operating systems, to running private clouds, to developing and operating services, oh and a bit of frontend too. So you’ll be part of a high-trust autonomous group and, although you won’t be directly responsible for all these things, it’s a unique opportunity to grow your skills. Despite the technical challenges, we’re a friendly bunch that enjoy an informal atmosphere and like to share our experiences and support each other. All we ask is that you love what you do and be highly driven and committed to learning.

Some travel may be required, and there will be opportunities to go to conferences.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, maintain and operate application services, systems automation and monitoring
  • Collaborate with multiple teams, solving their problems and gathering requirements where necessary
  • Lead technical discussions, investigate complex problems, research and collaborate on solutions

Requirements

  • Solid practical experience with ideally Golang, but alternatively another C-like language
  • Experience developing, deploying and operating container-based services
  • Broad knowledge of networking, including routing and internet protocols
  • Cross-platform knowledge of Linux, Mac and Windows to a s super-user level
  • Strong desire to learn, typified by having a few personal projects

Bonus Points

  • Knowledge and experience of virtualisation technologies
  • Experience with build systems and CI configuration
  • Knowledge of distributed systems and experience providing highly-available services
  • Experience with configuration management systems
  • Experience with public/private cloud
  • Experience with embedded software, Raspberry Pi or similar
