Role Overview:

An exciting opportunity to join a new global team that manages content and operations for PlayStation.com - marketing some of the world’s most popular products, services and experiences. We’re looking for an avid gamer, brand-fanatic and/or an extremely savvy digital operations guru – pragmatic, strategic and highly organised.

As a Manager, Web Operations you’ll be responsible for ensuring team and platform operations are optimised, streamlined and aligned with cross-functional teams – a master planner and tracker. You’re an experienced digital operations manager, across a global matrix organisation, with a keen eye for detail and passion for driving business efficiencies. You’ll work alongside the Editorial Content team and multiple stakeholders, managing a lean Ops team of your own, to ensure the site is current, relevant, and on-brand. You/your team will support and facilitate campaign planning, territory teams, site publishing, optimisation and development roll out - supporting the global dev program, editorial process and strategy that fuels SIE’s (Sony Interactive Entertainment) flagship website (PlayStation.com), in turn driving player engagement and business objectives.

The successful candidate will be results oriented, with a bias for action; an excellent communicator, technically minded, business-focused, nimble and well-versed in resource/process management; with a steadfast obligation for continuous improvement - team, systems and processes. He/she won’t mind rolling up their sleeves to get stuck in on the many tasks required for managing a successful global website. This is a part of a global team and will require working with a distributed team across multiple time zones.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and manage a Web Ops team - leading by example and motivating high performance
  • Establish, enhance, manage key operational processes, procedures and policies for the channel and team – including (but not limited to): BAU, brief submission and management flow process, SLAs, performance tracking and reporting, publishing (content migration, search, tagging, retail links, localisation, etc), UAT, territory engagement, crisis recovery
  • Define team objectives and targets, as well as spotting any trends or improvement opportunities around ways of working (automation)
  • Project manage key initiatives and support the publishing team as needed; Work with producers on creation of project documentation including strategy briefs and content roll out schedules
  • Track and manage resource capacity within the team and balance workload with key business priorities/beats
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure process alignment and propose workflow changes/new features/enhancements/bugs are raised as required for the business to succeed
  • Support the needs of 36+ territory marketing teams in their BAU management of local web initiatives and timely page activation's (as needed)
  • Ensure all training and Ops documentation is maintained and relevant
  • Manage business tools inventory and its owners, usage / documentation – Such as Akamai redirects, decibel, tagging, reporting tools, Search & Promote
  • Manage and be aware of authoring activities by various groups to ensure optimum usage of the system – Example: Support team to schedule bulk activation during the non-peak hours
  • Business reporting - produce ad-hoc reports from the CMS (using query or a pre-defined report), tracking/championing team performance/successes, system usage and/or other business insights that could be used to drive decision-making
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues
  • Develop a data-driven approach to workload management, performance tracking, content production & optimisation workstreams
  • Identify and take advantage of new business opportunities (new platforms, tools, trends, etc) - have a deep understanding of the digital spaces

What we’re looking for:

  • Senior experience in digital/web operations or production planning
  • Experience managing a high-performance team
  • High regard for confidentiality and discretion; Flexible and adaptable
  • Strong leadership skills, must be able to influence at all levels, use data to facilitate decision making and advise best practice; not afraid to challenge when necessary
  • Ability to maintain relationships with, and manage process flows across, various internal departments, territory offices, regional headquarters, third parties and agencies
  • Impeccable project management skills, with a keen eye for detail
  • Traffic/Resource management experience
  • Understanding of the gaming industry, gamer segments, competitive landscape and digital trends is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with CMS (Adobe AEM preferred), web analytics (Adobe Analytics preferred); Familiarity with tools such as JIRA/SAP/Wrike/Trello/Slack is a plus
  • Data driven and literacy in performance data metrics, and how data can be used to deliver optimised experiences
  • Experience with multi-site, multi-language, global site management
  • Quick study, resourceful, resilient, highly organised, with a can-do attitude
  • Excellent prioritisation and multi-tasking skills, with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment with proficiency and professionalism
  • Fluent in English with exceptional verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in additional language(s) is a plus
  • Advanced Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Self starter with passion, energy, enthusiasm to drive results and affect meaningful change
