JOB DESCRIPTION

Working as an integral part of the development team you will be a QA subject-matter expert providing constant support by identifying game anomalies before the integration phase, in order to ensure a non-regression of the features once implemented.

You are a champion for quality and polish. You understand the goals the game has to achieve and take proactive steps to help people to deliver their best on the game. You are efficient at reading feedback and understanding how to assess it directly in game, be it via test protocols or functional investigation.

You are able to identify tools and technologies needed to ensure that the deliverables are of the highest quality - from working through design and implementation decisions with the feature team to defining test cases and implementing new test processes and strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan tests on specific areas according to project features and milestones
  • Design, create, implement and maintain test cases, test scenarios and test automation frameworks
  • Deliver feedback and reports to the development team and actively participate in Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning and Retrospectives
  • Suggest adjustment and improvement to the test approach throughout the project
  • Work closely with the development teams to understand the need of automation
  • Identify, report, update and track bugs in JIRA
  • Work side-by-side with development teams in assisting bug investigation (reporting, reproduction, isolation) to ensure the title is achieving planned milestones
  • Validate high risk changes before they are integrated into the main version to ensure stability and basic functionality
  • Good communication and effective cooperation with the development team

Qualifications

  • Shipped at least 1 title from concept to final release in the capacity of a QA Tester
  • Understanding of testing techniques and methods, including utilizing and implementing test automation
  • Ability to understand user needs and take them into account when creating tasks and test scenarios
  • Understanding of feature & game development processes and the different needs of a team throughout a development cycle
  • Excellent communication skills and teamwork spirit
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with an ability to present innovative test approaches to identify problems efficiently and propose creative solutions to problems
  • Excellent time management, able to handle multiple tasks at the same time and work efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent spoken and written skills in English
  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent work experience

Nice to have:

  • Experience with current game engines and their respective tools
  • Strong experience with defect management tools (e.g. JIRA)
  • Strong experience with test case management tools (e.g. TestRail)
  • Solid experience with version control and data repository tools (e.g. Perforce)
  • Understanding of cross-functional team structures and agile methodologies
  • Formal QA certification, such as ISTQB or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Games-as-a-Service
  • TRC/TCR compliance experience
  • Any coding knowledge: JavaScript, Python, Java, C/C++/C#, SQL is a plus
